The corona antibody test determines whether specific antibodies are present in your blood
During infection with the novel coronavirus, the body produces specific antibodies against the pathogen as an immune response. Two to three weeks after the infection, the so-called IgG antibodies can be detected in the blood. People who have antibodies are assumed to have undergone a coronavirus infection and are highly likely to be immune. This test allows for the detection of both symptomatic and unnoticed past COVID-19 diseases.
Verify your vaccination effectiveness with our corona antibody test
Because many vaccines (e.g., BNT162b2 from BioNtech/Pfizer, mRNA-1273 from Moderna, and ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 from Oxford/AstraZeneca) use the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 as a target antigen, the formation of specific antibodies against this protein usually occurs after vaccination. These antibodies are also detectable. Therefore, a significant increase in IgG antibodies in the blood should be detectable after the second vaccination. To check the vaccination’s effectiveness, we, therefore, recommend that you have the test carried out at the earliest 7 days after your 2nd vaccination appointment.
